Finding the Key to Success

For most of us, finding success has been based on the educational paths we have chosen or through unique learning opportunities provided by family, friends, school, or specialized organizations such as the Brown County Institute for the Enhancement of Education (BCIEE). Our non-profit group began in 2007 when some caring citizens decided that the most valuable resources we have in Brown County is our children. The volunteer based group has dedicated its resources to providing and encouraging quality learning opportunities and programs across Brown County. Through these efforts we hope to help our children find the path to success.

Dolly Parton's Story

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Growing up in the Smoky Mountains was a real blessing. There were some tough times, but most of our life was full of the kind of riches money can never buy. One of my most precious memories is sitting on my mother's lap and listening to her read me stories from the Bible. It felt so warm and cozy. My imagination soared to places far beyond our little cabin.

Those wonderful memories with my mother inspired me to create my Imagination Library. Thanks to groups such as the Brown County Institute for the Enhancement of Education, all of the preschoolers in the community can now have their own Imagination Library. Just think, a book  mailed to your child each month until their fifth birthday!

I hope these books inspire you to read to your child. There is nothing quite like the sparkle in a child's eye when animals come alive and clowns dance on the page.  I hope you'll encourage your children to keep dreaming and to dream big. If my Imagination Library helps turn the dreams of a child into the promise of a bright future, then one of my biggest dreams will come true.

Love,
Dolly

Foundation Project: Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

It is all about inspiration and imagination. In 1995, Dolly developed the program so every preschool child in her home of Sevier County, Tennessee would have their own library of books that would encourage in them a love of reading and learning. The program is now an international program in which Dolly partners with organizations like the Brown County Institute for the Enhancement of Education to cover the cost of books and postage. Each month, until their fifth birthday, a child receives a book in the mail.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a unique opportunity to give something simple, yet powerful to children and parents. For more information, go to www.imaginationlibrary.com.
